Women with Wings
Connect with your ancestors in this mixed medial vintage journal workshop
“Once upon a time, when women were birds, there was the simple understanding that to sing at dawn and to sing at dusk was to heal the world through joy. The birds still remember what we have forgotten, that the world is meant to be celebrated.”
OPTION 1 : BOOK ONLY
I created this book because I was thinking about my grandmother and all she endured in her lifetime - World War I, World War II, moving from the United Kingdom to South Africa (quite the adventure in the 1920’s!), and started looking through my collection of beautiful vintage photographs. The young girl on the cover is my Aunt June. I wanted to share my treasure trove of old photographs collected by me over many years.
If you’d like the book only, please click here to purchase directly from Amazon for delivery in the USA.

So grateful to Coleen for doing this flip thru of my new Vintage Journal Imagery book. You can really get an idea of all the images in the book in Coleen’s video. So exciting when people you don’t know like your creations!
OPTION 2: WOMEN WITH WINGS JOURNAL PACKAGE
In this option, you will receive:
Vintage Journal Imagery book
A generous pack of vintage pages curated from my personal collection gathered over the last 15 years (including a page from a 1844-1847 vintage journal)

Supplies to create your Ancestor Altar
Six hours of creative online instruction, inspiration and sharing.
We’ll meet for two hours on three different days from 3pm to 5pm EST /12 noon to 2pm PST on each day.
On Day 1, I’ll demonstrate how I collage the vintage images on the journal pages using the supplies in your Creative Additions pack plus paints, stencils and other items that allow these vintage ancestors to come to life.
On Day 2, I’ll show you how to construct an Ancestor Altar, a meaningful way to remember where you came from. You might want to use photographs you already have of your ancestors, but if not you can adopt one of the people from the Vintage Imagery Journey to become your ancestor.
On Day 3, we will talk about the threads that connect us to our ancestors and to those that come after us, and we will share and inspire each other with what we have created.
Please allow at least a week for the items to reach you before the start of the workshop. Unfortunately I can only mail the packs to USA addresses.
The three online Zoom workshops will be held on these Saturdays from 3pm to 5pm EST /12 noon to 2pm PST: July 18th, August 1st and August 8th. They will be recorded if you cannot attend.
The cost of this option is $145.
“Come to the edge, she said.
They said: We are afraid.
Come to the edge, she said.
They came
She pushed them ...
and they flew.”
